How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Perth in 2026?

Ask a Perth kitchen company what a kitchen costs and you will usually be offered a site visit instead of a number. Here is ours, with numbers, because we price every kitchen from its actual parts and we know what they come to.

The short answer

A custom kitchen from us, designed, made in our Malaga workshop and installed, starts at $35,000 with the benchtop included: a simple kitchen with an entry-range 20 mm silica-free stone top. For the joinery alone, most of our kitchens land between $35,000 and $65,000 in 2026. That covers the cabinetry, doors, drawers, hardware, delivery, installation and design. It does not cover appliances, the other trades or demolition, and a benchtop beyond the entry range is priced per slab. Here is what those add.

What sits on top of that

Benchtop stone is priced per slab by the stone company, and for the same kitchen it can run from about $4,000 for the plainest stone to $12,000 for a natural marble or a porcelain with a mitred waterfall end; a laminate top starts nearer $2,500. Engineered stone has been banned in Australia since 1 July 2024, so what fills the middle now is crystalline silica-free mineral surfaces, porcelain and natural stone. You can buy it from the stone company directly, or we manage it and add 20 per cent to their price for the coordination and the guarantee; either way they template it after the cabinets are in, and we fit around it. Appliances are yours to choose; a sensible set starts around $5,000 to $7,000, and the number climbs quickly from there. Trades, meaning the licensed plumber and electrician, the tiler and the painter, have added $4,000 to $9,000 on our recent renovations; book them yourself, or have us manage them for 15 to 20 per cent on top of their invoices. If a wall comes out, a registered builder does that part and the number moves again.

Add those up and a complete renovation with us, everything in, comes to roughly $50,000 to $90,000. If someone quotes you far below that for a custom kitchen, ask whether the doors are 16 mm melamine or 18 or 21 mm thermolaminated, what the drawer runners are rated to carry, and who is installing it.

Where the money goes

Roughly a third of our price is material: board, doors, hardware, edge tape. A third is the workshop: machining, edging, assembly, the hours that turn sheets into cabinets. The rest is design, delivery, installation and the overheads of a business that owns its own machines. That is the whole list.

The choices that move the number

The island, and how much of it is drawers. The door profile, from a flat front at the bottom to a heavy detailed beaded door at the top. Integrated appliances, most of which need a panel and a cabinet. Tall storage, which carries more fronts and hardware per metre. A scullery, which adds $9,000 to $22,000 of joinery and, in our experience, takes some cost out of the main kitchen. Our pricing page puts a band against every style we make, and the style pages explain what is in each.

How to get a real number

Our consultation form takes about ten minutes and asks for a budget bracket, a rough layout and a few photos. From that we come back with a range before anyone measures anything, and if we are not the right fit for the budget we say so on the first call. Start there.
