Perth Kitchen Crafters

Kitchen design and cabinet making, under one roof

We design your kitchen with you and then make it ourselves, in our own workshop in Malaga. Perth Kitchen Crafters is one team: Vincent Mayer, master cabinet maker; Margot Hennequin, interior designer, who works with you on the design and stays your point of contact through the job; an apprentice; and the cabinet makers who join us in the workshop and on site when a job needs them. There is no showroom and no sales team, so the people you talk to are the people who draw and make your kitchen.

Frameless, like nearly every Australian kitchen

The door sits over the box, and the ornament, if you want it, is in the door, the mouldings and the mantle. Carcasses, flat fronts and panels are cut and edged here. Profiled and thermolaminated doors come from Polytec or Modernform to our sizes. Painted fronts are sprayed for us by a spray shop. Drawers run on Blum LEGRABOX, Blum MERIVOBOX or Finista Edge, all soft close, chosen to the budget.

The cooking wall straight on: oak-look overheads with an open shelf, LED strip, hexagon tiles, five-burner gas cooktop, white handle-free drawers
The batten peninsula with three cane stools, the stainless fridge and the white herringbone splashback
Eight styles, one workshop

Hamptons, modern, Scandinavian, minimalist, Japandi, modern farmhouse, industrial and traditional. Each style has its own page, with the doors, the colours and the details that make it. The style is usually where the conversation starts, and the kitchen is drawn from there.

The pieces people ask for

A scullery behind the kitchen. An island with a curved end. Fronts with no handles. The fridge behind a door that matches. A pantry with inner drawers so nothing is lost at the back. A corner that swings out with the pots on it. A line of warm light under the uppers. Each one has its own page, with what it involves and what it adds.

Your appliances, built in

You buy the appliances. Give us the model numbers and every cabinet is sized to them, with the fridge, the dishwasher and the rangehood built in wherever you want them out of sight.

Three kitchens we made

Our own kitchen in Greenwood, a 1970s living room that became the room everyone is in. A narrow galley in North Perth with drawers everywhere and a cabinet drawn around a waste pipe. A first home in South Guildford with a batten peninsula and a door nobody can find. Each has its own page, with the room as it was before, a short reel, and the story of what we did.

How it goes, and where we work

A free visit to your house, the quote on the spot or within 48 hours, drawings you walk through in 3D, four to six weeks in the workshop from the signed drawings, then the install, then two to four weeks for the stone. We work across Perth and mostly north of the river, from Greenwood and Duncraig across to North Perth, Mount Lawley and South Guildford. Four in five of the houses we work in are double brick, which is why we measure before we draw.

Popular Questions

Design, workshop and installation are one team in Malaga. Most kitchen companies split those three jobs between a salesperson, a factory and a subcontractor, and something is lost at every handover. Here the designer, the cabinet makers and the installers work from the same drawings, which is why the shadow gaps run true and the hidden doors line up.

Within what we make, yes: any layout, any of the 96 door profiles and every colour on the materials page, and any hardware we fit. What we do not do is supply appliances, tiles, tapware or benchtop stone. Those are yours to buy or the stone company’s to make, and we size everything to them.

Four to six weeks in the workshop from the signed drawings, then the install: about three weeks on site for a kitchen that stays where it is, about six if it moves rooms. The stone follows two to four weeks after the cabinets are in.

Polytec, Laminex, Formica and Modernform boards and doors, Titus PET boards, and Blum and Finista hardware, all from Australian suppliers. Benchtops are crystalline silica-free mineral surfaces, porcelain or natural stone from the stone company. Engineered stone has been banned in Australia since July 2024, and nothing we quote is engineered stone.

You buy them. Give us the model numbers and every cabinet is sized to them before anything is cut, with the fridge, dishwasher and rangehood built in wherever you want them hidden.

Yes, usually with the kitchen: laundries, wardrobes, a study, a bar nook, made in the same run so the finishes carry through the house. We do not do bathrooms on their own, and we do not reface existing cabinets.

Yes, by appointment. It is a workshop in Malaga, not a showroom: there is nothing on display, but you are welcome to see your own kitchen being made.

We work across Perth, mostly north of the river, and four in five of the houses we work in are double brick. Ask about your suburb on the form and we will tell you straight away.

It depends on the size of the room, the door you choose and the hardware inside. The pricing page shows where our kitchens land by style and what moves the number. The quote after the site visit is priced from every cabinet’s parts, so it is exact.

Five years on the cabinetry we make and install. The guarantees page has the detail.
