One team, from the first drawing to the last hinge
Most kitchen companies are three businesses in a trench coat: a showroom that sells, a factory that makes and a subcontractor who installs. Each hands the job to the next, and something is lost at every handover.
Perth Kitchen Crafters is one team with one workshop in Malaga. The drawing, the making and the fitting happen under one roof. We call that Direct by Design.
What direct means in practice
Direct drawings
The people who measure your room are the people who build what they draw
Because the drawing is made by the people who will build it, it is buildable from the first line. You walk through the kitchen in 3D and approve every drawing before a sheet is cut. Our own kitchen in Greenwood went through four or five versions on the screen; moving a wall on a screen costs an afternoon.
Direct pricing
A quote priced from every cabinet’s parts, not from a chart
Our own quoting system prices every cabinet from its parts, so the quote is exact and it arrives on the spot or within 48 hours of the site visit. It says what is in the number and what is not. What you are not paying for is a showroom lease and a sales commission. The pricing page shows where our kitchens land by style, and what moves them.
Direct making
Cut, edged and assembled in our own workshop
Carcasses, flat fronts and panels are made in Malaga by the team that drew them. Profiled and thermolaminated doors come from Polytec or Modernform to our sizes, and we fit every one. When the designer and the makers share a workshop, the shadow gaps run true and the grain runs on from door to door, because it was planned that way before the sheet was cut.
Direct install
The team that made your kitchen is the team that fits it
That is why the hidden door in South Guildford has no visible gap, and why the roller-door cabinet in North Perth wraps a waste pipe to the millimetre. Nobody on site is reading someone else’s drawing, so what was drawn is what gets built.
Direct answers
Call and you get Margot or Vincent, not a department
Ask a question and it is answered by someone who will draw or build the thing. If something needs changing, it is written down, priced and approved before the work moves, by the people who can decide on the spot.
Direct responsibility
One business on the drawings, the quote and the guarantee
Nothing is passed between a showroom, a factory and a subcontractor, so nothing can be passed back either. Five years on the cabinetry we make and install. The guarantees page spells out what is covered, what is not, and how to claim.
Why it works better
Decisions on the spot
There is no sales office to check with. The people who answer the phone can change the drawing and tell you what it costs.
Nothing lost at a handover
The designer, the cabinet makers and the installers work from the same drawings, which is why the shadow gaps run true and the hidden doors line up.
No showroom to pay for
You are not paying for a showroom lease or a sales commission, and the quote says exactly what is in the number and what is not.
One number to call
Margot or Vincent, from the first visit to the handover and after it. Nobody hands you on to a department.
One guarantee
Five years on the cabinetry we make and install, in writing, with the makers’ warranties on the doors and the hardware on top.
See what direct looks like in a house
The roller-door cabinet in North Perth wraps a waste pipe to the millimetre. The hidden door in South Guildford has no visible gap. Both were drawn, made and fitted by the same people. The projects page has the rooms as they were before, and what we did.
A site visit is free and takes an hour or two, and the quote follows on the spot or within 48 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
Design, workshop and installation are one team under one roof in Malaga. Nothing is handed to a factory or a subcontractor, and the people you talk to are the people who make your kitchen. Most kitchen companies split those three jobs between a salesperson, a factory and an installer.
Margot Hennequin, our interior designer, and Vincent Mayer, our master cabinet maker, come to the first visit. The kitchen is made in Malaga by Vincent, an apprentice and the cabinet makers who join us when a job needs them, and it is installed by the same team.
You are not paying for a showroom or a sales team. The pricing page shows exactly where our kitchens land. We do not publish comparisons with other companies; ask them for their bands and compare the numbers yourself.
No. Four to six weeks in the workshop from the signed drawings, then the install, then the stone, with the dates agreed in writing at the start. What a small team cannot do is take on every job at once, which is why we say early whether we can fit yours in.
Not for the cabinetry. Profiled and thermolaminated doors are made to our sizes by Polytec and Modernform and fitted by us, painted fronts are sprayed by a spray shop, and the benchtop is made and fitted by the stone company. The plumber, gas fitter and electrician do their own trades. Everything we make, we make.
You call us. Someone who made it looks at it within a week, usually within a day or two, and puts it right under the five-year guarantee.
Perth, mostly north of the river, and four in five of the houses we work in are double brick. Ask about your suburb on the form.
Call 0411 578 898, or fill in the consultation form, which takes about ten minutes and tells us what we need before we call you back. Then we come to your house, free, with the samples.
