Perth Kitchen Crafters

Design, craft, install

A kitchen from us runs in three parts: we design it with you in your house, we make it in our own workshop in Malaga, and the team that made it installs it. There is no showroom in between and nothing is handed to a factory. Here is each part, with the dates we work to.

Design

The first visit is free and it happens at your place, not in a showroom. We measure the room, look at where the plumbing and the power are, and talk about how you cook, who sits where and what you reach for every morning.

Margot Hennequin, our interior designer, and Vincent Mayer, our master cabinet maker, are the people who come, and they are the people you deal with from that visit to the handover. Bring your appliance list if you have one, because every cabinet is sized to it.

The design step includes:

  • A free visit to your house, with the samples, usually an hour or two
  • A quote priced from every cabinet’s parts, on the spot or within 48 hours, saying what is in it and what is not
  • A kitchen you walk through in 3D, from the couch and from the sink, changed until it is right
  • Your appliances built in, sized to the model numbers before anything is cut
  • Drawings you sign, because nothing is cut until you have

Nothing is cut until you have signed the drawings, and any change after that is written down and priced before the work moves.

Craft

Your kitchen is cut, edged and assembled in our own workshop in Malaga, four to six weeks from the signed drawings. Carcasses, flat fronts and panels are made here from the board you chose. Profiled and thermolaminated doors come from Polytec or Modernform, made to our sizes, and we fit every one.

The workshop step includes:

  • Moisture-resistant board for the carcasses, edged in our workshop
  • Blum or Finista Edge runners, soft close on every drawer
  • Painted fronts sprayed for us by a spray shop, in the colour you picked
  • Assembly before delivery, so the fit is proved before anything goes on the van
  • A workshop you are welcome to visit, though it is a workshop, not a showroom

Four to six weeks in Malaga, from the drawings you signed to the van at your door.

Install

The team that made your kitchen installs it. A kitchen that stays where it is takes about three weeks on site, from demolition to the last trade. One that moves to another room takes about six, because the plumber, gas fitter and electrician run the services first.

The install step includes:

  • Demolition and the old kitchen taken away
  • The trades in the right order: they quote their own part, and you book them or we manage them
  • The stone after the cabinets: the stone company templates, cuts and fits, two to four weeks, the normal Perth lead time
  • A handover through every drawer and hinge, with the care notes for your finishes
  • Five years on the cabinetry we make and install, in writing

The people who made your kitchen are the people who fit it. Nobody on site is reading a stranger’s drawing.

What the process gives you

One team

Design, workshop and install are the same team in Malaga: Vincent, Margot, an apprentice, and the cabinet makers who join us when a job needs them.

A quote from the parts

Our own quoting system prices every cabinet from its parts, so the number is exact rather than a guess from a chart, and it says what is in it and what is not.

Drawings you approve

You walk through the kitchen in 3D before a sheet is cut. Moving a wall on a screen costs an afternoon; moving it later costs a great deal more.

Dates in writing

Four to six weeks in the workshop, about three weeks on site, then two to four weeks for the stone. The dates are agreed in writing before the workshop starts.

Five years, in writing

Five years on the cabinetry we make and install, with the makers’ warranties on the doors and the hardware on top.

Start with a site visit

The visit is free, it takes an hour or two, and we bring the samples. You get a written quote on the spot or within 48 hours. Tell us which room and roughly what you are thinking, and we will say honestly whether we are the right people for it.

Frequently Asked Questions

From the signed drawings, four to six weeks in the workshop, then the install, then two to four weeks for the stone. From the first visit, allow about three months for a kitchen that stays where it is, and a little more if walls or services move.

Measuring, looking, and talking about how you live in the room. We bring the samples. Most visits take an hour or two, and you get a written quote on the spot or within 48 hours.

Yes. Every kitchen exists in 3D before a sheet is cut, and you approve the drawings. Our own kitchen in Greenwood went through four or five versions on the screen before the first carcass came out of the van.

Moisture-resistant board for the carcasses, thermolaminated or flat board fronts from Polytec and Modernform, two-pack paint sprayed for us by a spray shop when you want a painted kitchen, and Blum or Finista hardware. Benchtops are stone or porcelain from the stone company, never engineered stone, which has been banned in Australia since July 2024. Every profile and colour we work with is on the materials page.

Yes. The plumber, gas fitter and electrician come in when the drawings say so, and they quote their own part. You book them yourself, or we manage them for you.

Tell us before the sheet is cut. The change is written down and priced, you approve it, and then the work moves. After the sheet is cut, a change is a new part, and we say what it costs before we make it.

No. The appliances, the tapware and the tiles are yours to buy, and the benchtop is made and fitted by the stone company. Give us the model numbers and every cabinet is sized to them. We make and install the cabinetry.

It depends on the size of the room, the door you choose and the hardware inside. The pricing page shows where our kitchens land by style and what moves the number, and the quote after the site visit is priced from every cabinet’s parts.
